Searching For Anzac and Veteran Journals

What are the search options available?

There are three options to search for the Anzac and Veteran Journals available from the homepage.

Search by Anzac and Veteran name: Select the radio button adjacent to the text above the search box that says "Search by Anzac" or "Search by Veteran". Then start typing the name your are searching for into the search box. Auto suggested names will appear as you type. Select the name from the list and then click the "Search Button".

Search by town born in: Select the radio button adjacent to the text above the search box that says "Search town born in". Then start typing the name of the town your are searching for into the search box. Auto suggested town names will appear as you type. Select the town name from the list and then click the "Search Button".

Search by town enlisted from: Select the radio button adjacent to the text above the search box that says "Search town Anzacs enlisted from". Then start typing the name of the town your are searching for into the search box. Auto suggested town names will appear as you type. Select the town name from the list and then click the "Search Button".

Adding To The Journals

What are the are the options for me to add content to an Anzac or Veteran Journal?

You can add content in the following ways:

Add a short tribute
Add content as a moderator
Add content as a contributor
Add content as a group member
Add content as a student

Short Tribute

What is a short tribute?
A tribute of just a few words to honour the chosen Anzac or Veteran. Short tributes can be submitted by following these steps.

Step One: Search for the Anzac or Veteran and click throught to display the Journal.
Step Two: On the left of the Journal's front cover click the link that says "Submit a short journal tribute to honour Frederick Edward Bland" and then fill out and submit the Short Tribute form.

Your tribute will then be checked by a moderator to ensure the tribute is appropriate, relevant, respectful and honours the Anzac or Veteran and will then publish the tribute. Once published, your tribute will appear in the Journal

What is a moderator?
A Moderator is the person responsible for the editorial oversight of a Journal and ensures all information entered in the Journal is appropriate and honours the Anzac

How do I become a moderator?
You can become a moderator by applying online using the following steps:

Step One: Visit http://AustraliaRemembers.net.au and search for the town in which your Anzac or Veteran was born.
Step Two: From the list of names, click your chosen name.
Step Three: The chosen Anzac or Veteran journal will now be displayed.
Step Four: Click the "Become A Moderator" link which is seen to the left of the journal cover.
Step Five: Follow the instructions.

Can moderators submit images to the journal?
Yes.

Can moderators submit content to the journal?
Yes, moderators can create pages in the journal and submit content to those pages.

What type of content can a moderator submit to a journal?
A moderator is able to add images, create additional pages and add written text to the journal. The content should be appropriate, relevant and respectful. It can be submitted as archival images, or images relating in some way to the Anzac. Text information should always be appropriate, relevant and respectful and where possible, sources should be acknowledged. Avoid plagiarism and straight copy and paste from other sources. Always check content for spelling and grammatical mistakes.

What other roles does a moderator have?
The moderator will check and then publish images and content submitted by contributors if the images and content are considered appropriate.

How will a moderator know when content has been submitted by a contributor?
The moderator will be notified by email and a SMS message.

Contributors

What is a contributor?
A contributor is a person who submits content to a specific Anzac journal which is appropriate, relevant, respectful and honours the Anzac or Vetera. Once submitted, the new content will then be approved by the moderator before it is published.

A contributor is able to add images, create additional pages and add written text to the journal.

How do I become a contributor?
You can become a contributor by applying online using the following steps:

Step One: Visit http://AustraliaRemembers.net.au and search for the town in which your Anzac or Veteran was born.
Step Two: From the list of names, click your chosen name.
Step Three: The chosen Anzac or Veteran Journal will now be displayed.
Step Four: Click the "Become A Contributor" link which is seen to the left of the Journal cover.
Step Five:Then follow the instructions.
Contributors can only be approved once a journal has been assigned to a moderator

Can a contributor submit images to the journal?
Yes they can.

Can a contributor submit content to the journal?
Yes, contributors can create pages in the journal and submit content to those pages. These entries will be checked and published by the journal moderator.

The content should be appropriate, relevant and respectful. It can be submitted as archival images, or images relating in some way to the Anzac.
